UTokyo Global Unit Courses

This program provides short-term, intensive tracks (ranging from 1 to 3 weeks between June and July) focused on language and culture for global students. Highlights include interactive, small-group instruction across multiple fluency levels (beginner to intermediate) taught by premier UTokyo faculty, coupled with practical modules simulating real-life communication scenarios in Japan. Outcomes: Participants drastically accelerate their everyday Japanese conversational literacy, cultivate deep cross-cultural competencies, and secure an official Global Unit Certificate containing units that are eligible for credit transfer to their home universities.
